20. Hardanger Embroidery by Hiroko Takeuchi

This was one of the many gifts I received from Asako-sensei, my teacher in bobbin lace making.This is a project book.

I like many projects in this book. I recently finished a napkin.

Here is my version:

it also has a photo of a sampler of all the basic stitches in Hardanger embroidery plus some of the more advanced stitches. Using only the photo as reference, I was able to construct my own version of the sampler.

3. Fundamentals made Fancy by Janice Love

This is another book from Love. Right after Basics and Beyond, I made the project Victorian needlebox, the only project in the book. It features all the fancy stitches that can be done in hardanger embroidery.
