21. The Encyclopedia of Embroidery Techniques by Pauline Brown

Encyclopedia of Embroidery Techniques

This book has lots of contents, and even has net embroidery and needle lace techniques which are not so popular anymore. But then because of its size, it can only discuss most  techniques in a page or half a page.

This is not a project book, but it has lots of photos for inspiration. On this sample page on stumpwork technique, 2 of Barbara Hirst´s works are shown (no instructions on finishing included.)
